Karaoke

Combined Kenpo Martial Art Association, Tournament XXIII (November 2011)

The Shaolin Kung Fu Centers / Maury’s Kung Fu Academy participated in the Combined Kenpo Martial Art Association, Tournament XXII (November 2011, Concord, NH). Chapter 1 – Sifu Gary Lachapelle This tournament was very special for the students at Maury’s Kung Fu, because we were privileged to see our Sifu Gary Lachapelle perform & compete. Perhaps one of the most fundamental events for our school during the whole day was Sifu’s performance of Hua Quan, First Spear Set, during the Grand Championship Forms event. Hua Quan, First Spear Set However, the day didn’t start with the Grand Championships. That happened at the end of the day, after the tallys of the day came in. Sifu’s day started with an open hand form, showing the Bak Mei Style of Kung Fu, during his open hand form division (Black Belt 30 Thru 39Yrs, Male)… Bak Mei Style We rarely get to spar with Sifu ourselves. But to see him spar in a tournament… Well… After training with him for 2 years, I’ve never seen it before… And no other black sash in our school, except for his daughter, has ever seen it. Innaugural New England Chinese Martial Art Championships – 2011

The Shaolin Kung Fu Centers / Maury’s Kung Fu Academy participated in the Inaugural New England Chinese Martial Arts Championship which was held at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, MA on Saturday, July 30th, 2011. Sifu Gary, Simo, Sije Cheyenne, Sihing Benjie, and Matt all drove into Boston for this amazing event. A packed house of spectators and nearly 400 competitors from the New England states, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York and as far away as Florida and Texas took part in the championship.All the major schools from the Boston area were represented and many sent strong contingents of competitors. ICMAC has felt all along that this is an important area for Chinese martial arts and that this was an important stop on our circuit. Sije Cheyenne & Sihing Benjie represented the school very well. World Tai Chi Day – 2011

Come Join World Tai Chi Day in Worcester! On the last Saturday of April each year an unprecedented and spectacular moving global happening occurs in over 70 nations, in hundreds of cities worldwide.  Tens of thousands of people come together for the sold purpose of advancing personal and global health & healing. This event is known as World Tai Chi and Qi Gong Day!  And we do our part every year right here in Worcester. This Saturday, April 30th from 10:00 am – 12:00 noon we will be performing and teaching Tai Chi with a Qi Gong warm-up first at 10 am at Elm Park, Worcester (near the wooden bridge, weather permitting = rain location at the kung fu school, 1326 Main St, Worcester).
