Kung Fu Kids Say the Darndest Things…
We all know that kids say the darndest things. And so, our Sifu has discovered that, spending so much time with kids, teaching them, this is also very true in the Kung Fu school. As a parent and student myself, I was starting to get exposed to this more and more while sitting in the parents gallery.
So, I took it upon myself to write some of these things down. The idea was that maybe someday there would be enough to compile into a book.
As I wrote these things, others noticed and were enthusiastic, even taking extra efforts to let me know when something was said that might be good for the book.
Now that we have this site, I thought it might be worth experimenting with this space as a publishing medium. This is just an experiment. So, I’m eager to get feedback on it.
Writing a book is one thing, one where there is an editing process pushed far into the future… One where the prospects of publication are slim, vague, and intangible. However, writing a blog is quite different, with the result very real and immediate.
There are some possible outcomes that I’m wondering about…
1) Maybe this will be a lot of fun for everyone. People may embrace it with enthusiasm. Sometimes people are enthusiastic.
2) Maybe this will be awkward. Maybe people won’t want to have things published online. Sometimes people are skeptical or hesitant.
3) Maybe this will be like a tree falling in the woods, with no one around to hear.
Who knows?
All of these statements by the kids are innocent and naive. However, of course, when viewed from the perspective of an adult, they can be very funny because they can be interpreted in other ways. Rest assured, we treasure our kids like all good parents.
